Grand Prize Winner - Samuel D. (Mrs. Rigg' class)My house gives me comfort. It is a good size—not too big or not too small. It has a warm fireplace outside. We live by the woods. My house is also fun because it has a big tree. When we moved in there was a rope swing attached to the tree. I also like to go on bike rides with my Dad. There is a lot to do at my house. The two things that I couldn’t live without are my house and my family. |

First Prize Winner - Luke S. (Mrs. Wall's class)What My Home Means To Me. My awesome home is exciting and fun. Everyone is loving and you can just be yourself like normal. It’s just cool to talk to each other. No one’s an outsider. We’re family. We encourage each other to do our best, not to give up: To do our best every day and work hard. We have breakfast and dinner together. It rocks at my house. We play football and basketball. It rocks. We help each other when it is hard and tough. |

Second Prize Winner - Soraya F. (Mrs. Moore's class)What My Home Means to Me. One thing I like about my home is the comfort. The couches, chairs, and beds are all so comfy! When my back is itchy, I get on the couch and rub my back on it. When I play on the house computer, I sit on the computer chair, which is really comfy and it doesn’t even have arm resters! And when I want to read in my room, I read on my Mom’s bed. I read in the dark. But the best thing of all is…MY FAMILY! They hug me, cuddle me, and give me lots of love! Sometimes my Mom plays board games with me, and she plays Mario Kart Wii with me. She helps me with my homework, and more! I love my family, and they love me! Well, that’s all you need to know about what my home means to me. |

Second Prize Winner - Noelle B. (Mrs. Moore's class)What does home mean to you? My home means a lot of things. One reason why I love living in my old house on the hill is because it was made in l929. Some people would think it was very old and creaky but I do not. I absolutely LOVE seeing the sunbeams that come into my room in the morning. They make me feel comfortable and happy. I also love the fruit trees. My favorite thing is that the trees sometimes bear fruit, usually plums. Then there is a gazebo. It is a very good place to use my imagination. There is also an old goldfish pond next to the gazebo, with lots of big goldfish and small goldfish and sometimes salamanders and frogs. Then in the evening we go to my favorite part of the old house and sit by the real fireplace and listen to the crackle pop of the flames. When I’m at my old house I feel comfortable and safe. I’m happy we will never sell it. |

Second Prize Winner - Haley C. (Mrs. Moore's class)What An Awesome Home. My home means a lot to me because if I had no home I would have no food, no shelter, and no fun. You might have to wear garage bags. It would not be fun. In my home I fell welcome and warm. |

Second Prize Winner - Oliver P. (Mrs. Hallinan's class)My home means a fortune to me and my family and here are some reasons why. To start with, I would want to tell you where my family lives. Cuddling close to the fire looking outside from in a house makes me feel warm. It reminds me of winter season because the trees are covered in snow and listening to the sound of the wind howling in the distance. Also, I would like to tell you what we do on family gathering night. Every Friday night my family gets together and plays board games all night and the sound of us talking faded into silent night. My never ending home is where my heart is planted and is where it will stay forever. |

How I feel smart is by trying hard. How I feel happy is by showing attention. How I feel cozy is by having a warm house and a loving family. |

Third Prize Winner - Bryan P. (Mrs. Riggs' class)Where My House Has My Memories. My house has my baby memories. I remember playing hide and seek with my family. I used to climb on couches, my bed, stairs, tables, even on the kitchen counters. I used to make things like blocks and make things fall off the table and break glass, books, even paper. I didn’t even listen to my family. If they say clean up my room, I just ignored them. If you don’t remember your childhood you can look at your things that you had as a child like a blanket or a toy. Then you can see your past again. |

Third Prize Winner - Grace M. (Mrs. Wall's class)What My Home Means To Me. To me, my home means where my special family is. I can see my pets, play and feel safe. In my opinion my home is the number one best place to be in the whole wide world. On Saturdays I do chores. Doing chores makes the house mice and clean so I don’t complain. I think my home is a special place! |

Third Prize Winner - Derek B. (Mrs. Wall's class)What My Home Means To Me. What my home means to me is that the people who live in it care about me. Me and my brother always play football in my front yard or my room. It is fun. Me and my brother take turns kicking and returning the ball. But sometimes my brother cries when I take him. So be quiet. But that’s ok because he plays anyways. So does my Dad. It is cool. |

My house is on the beach. I can collect sea glass and agates. I can go to pools in the sand and get tiny fish. I also can go dig holes in sand and find shrimp and clams in them. Sometimes we can build a fire on the beach at night. There are a few things of many things I like about my home. |
